Mayor Filner to attend Bankers Hill Residents Group meeting

Mayor Bob Filner will present his plan for temporary traffic management of Balboa Park’s Plaza de Panama to neighbors and local businesses on Monday, May 20 from 6:30-8pm at the monthly meeting of the Bankers Hill Residents Group, held on the top floor of the Inn at the Park located at Fifth and Spruce in Bankers Hill.

Mayor Filner’s proposal will close vehicular traffic across the Laurel Street Bridge (and through the Plaza de Panama) on weekends, remove all parking, striping and signs from the plaza and relocate handicapped and valet parking. The plaza would also be resurfaced. During the week vehicles would be able to drive across the park with access via the SW corner of the Plaza de Panama. Want to know more? Please come to the Monday, May 20 presentation of the Bankers Hill Residents Group meeting (3rd Mondays of the month). Everyone’s welcome & encouraged to attend.

A no host bar will open at 6pm. Come early to socialize and enjoy the big views of Uptown.
